Belden House Renovation

Rebecca and Nadim love beautiful spaces and materials and have an exquisite collection of French and Lebanese textiles, furniture and paintings that begged to be celebrated in the design of the modernized renovation of their traditional Chicago home they love and are raising their three young children in.

Details in the existing house such as the original wood trim, brick exterior revealed during the demolition, and imperfections given to wood floors over a century of use, were all things the clients not only wanted to preserve, but highlight. Window trim was removed during demolition and carefully tagged, stored, and given a new coat of clear stain before being reinstalled. Pairing these older textures and character with custom railings by Laylo and Reform cabinetry, along with hand-painted tiles from Portugal, give the home a warmth and timelessness.
