Ruth and Ken have a huge family who all love being together, especially during summers in a dreamy community along Lake Michigan. They decided it was time to build on the vacant lot that had been in the family for generations. Currently under construction, Ruth and Ken look forward to filling their new kitchen – most certainly the center of the house – with their three grown boys and their families, Ruth’s 93-year-old father, and loads of friends.

It was clear from the beginning that the house wanted to don an all-black exterior so that it could disappear behind newly planted pine trees and Michigan maples along the street. One of the key features of the house are custom steel windows that will allow for views out into the surroundings and plenty of operability to let fresh air into the house.

The house is being built by Pantelleria Construction and aims to be finished in time for 2023 summer family gatherings.
